Stunning Super AMOLED Plus Touchscreen
- The most arresting aspect of this phone would have to be the massive 4.3" Super AMOLED+ display encased in tough scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. The capacitive touchscreen has bright eye popping colours coupled with sharp contrasts. Clearly the Galaxy S2 team called someone from Samsung's TV screens division for a chat.

Thin and light
- Thin and light is a combination hard to beat. Samsung have succeeded in sticking feather light innards within a super slim body. At just 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm it is the thinnest phone in the market today. And 116gms of weight means that all that horsepower isn't going to weigh down your pocket -at least in a literal way.

Full HD Camera
- The 8.1 MP autofocus camera with LED flash is a breeze to use. Pictures are bright and crisp with plenty of options to adjust and customise the settings. There have been reports of a bluish tinge to pictures and to the screen in general, but nothing too significant. A 2 MP VGA front facing camera is adequate for video calls. The phone also comes with 1080p Full HD video capability.

Gingerbread goodness
- Galaxy S2 comes pre loaded with Android 2.3.3, one of the latest version of Google's mobile operating system (2.3.4 is the latest). Samsung have applied their own Android customization called TouchWiz 4.0, and it doesn't seem to do much harm. Makes the interface look a touch more iPhone like. One customization that is really handy is Swype which is a Samsung innovation to improve typing with the phone keypad.

Music Hub / Readers Hub / Social Hub / Game Hub
- Samsung have created a bunch of apps to bring together different ways in which you would use the phone. Music Hub is the place to buy, download and access music. Social hub collects email and social network activity in one place. Readers hub is to download and access eBooks, newspapers and magazines provided by Samsung partners. Finally the Game hub is as you would guess the place to buy, download and access games. Hubs are a good to have, though it is much easier to just pick from one of the many excellent applications already available in the Android Market.

High speed Dual core processor
- Samsung Galaxy S2 has consistently beaten every smartphone in the market, certainly any phone available in Australia today, in speed tests. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. And that means that the phone can handle a heavy workload even when multiple applications are open simultaneously. Navigating through menus and between apps is buttery smooth, and browsing the web a breeze.
